Breaking Away From the Pack Audition Technique Workshop

Brian Levy is pleased to offer his highly acclaimed and sought after Audition Technique workshop, Breaking Away From the Pack several times a year as his busy production schedule allows. His workshop is suitable for actors teen to adult, and is very helpful for those actors entering the profession without much audition experience, as well as those actors who have experience, but are struggling with auditioning and need a refresher. For actors audition is the ‘genesis point’ in the process of getting cast. As an actor it only makes sense to hone this skill beyond showing up, zooming-in or sending a self-tape. My workshop helps actors to better understand the casting process, the odds of just being invited to audition, how actors are chosen to audition and much more. Participants will be shown the pov from the casting directors side, and that is always an ‘eye-opener’. I encourage questions, comments and observations throughout the workshop, all materials are provided. Participants will have opportunity to work on-camera with live direction and re-direct. This workshop is engaging, challenging and essential to any actor wanting to be more successful in the process. In this workshop I cover in-person auditions, Zoom and self-tape auditions.
Participants are provided with an online link to all on-camera work from the class.

Brian Levy has been successfully casting for film, television and commercials since 1985. He is an award winning casting director and has cast dozens of award winning commercial and television projects. Brian is a graduate of the prestigious Vancouver Playhouse Acting School. He is on the faculty of Seneca College’s Acting for Film and Television program. He sits on the executive of the Casting Directors Society of Canada and is a member in good standing of the CSA (Casting Society of America) as well as the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television.

Dialect coaching with Jason Stroud – private on-line classes available from $35 per hour + hst.
